What is Sculptra Aesthetic®?
Sculptra Aesthetic® is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler that can smooth fine lines and deep wrinkles, restore facial volume, and address other signs of aging. It is made from a gel-like substance that includes poly-L-lactic acid, which is a collagen stimulator. The substance will be injected into targeted treatment areas to smooth your skin and encourage collagen production. It will absorb into your body within a few days of treatment, resulting in firmer, smoother, and younger-looking skin.
Where is it Injected?
You can get this type of filler injected into any area of your face where you have lines or wrinkles that you want to smooth. It is most commonly used in the face, including around the eyes, mouth, nose, forehead, and cheeks. It can also be used in the hips and butt.

When you come in for your initial consultation, you will meet with one of our talented and experienced skin care specialists, Jeanne Bernstein RN or Danielle Moser PA-C. Jeanne or Danielle will examine your face and discuss your goals to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. They will discuss areas that the fillers can improve for you and discuss the risks, complications, and alternative cosmetic treatments. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and make an informed decision as to whether this procedure is right for you. If you choose to get fillers, we will schedule a time for the procedure.

Preparing for your skin care procedure
How Injections are Performed
After your initial consultation, we will schedule your treatment session. We recommend that you arrive with a clean face, free from makeup, skin care products, lotions, deodorants, or perfumes. You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. We ask that you hydrate well and eat a small meal before your appointment. Do not drink alcohol or take aspirin or other blood thinning medications. Before your injections, we will clean your skin and use a topical anesthetic to numb the area. We will inject the filler underneath your skin using a small, sterile needle. You may feel a slight pinch or pressure.
What to Expect After Injections
Most people do not experience any pain or discomfort during or after injections. You should be able to resume your regular routine immediately after your appointment. You should avoid strenuous exercise or activities for a few days. You may experience mild tenderness, bruising, or swelling for a day or two. You should massage the treatment area for five minutes at a time five times a day for the first seven to 10 days after your injections. A month or two after your injection, you will notice that your skin looks plumper, fuller, and younger.
How Long Do the Results Last?
How long your results last may depend on your age, weight, overall health, and how your body responds to Sculptra Aesthetic injections and absorbs the substance. In general, results can last for more than two years. You can get maintenance injections every year or two to sustain your results.
