Neck Lift Surgery
A More Defined Jawline. A Smoother, More Youthful Neck.
Over time, the neck is often one of the first areas to show visible signs of aging. Loose skin, excess fat, and muscle banding can change the appearance of the jawline and create a less defined profile.
Neck lift surgery is a highly effective plastic surgery procedure designed to improve the appearance of the neck and jawline. At Maloney Plastic Surgery, each procedure is carefully tailored to restore a smoother, firmer, and more contoured appearance with natural-looking results.

What Is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the neck and jawline.
This procedure can remove excess fat, tighten underlying muscles, and eliminate loose, sagging skin to create a smoother and more defined appearance. It is often performed on its own or in combination with other procedures for more comprehensive results.

What a Neck Lift Can Improve
Changes in the neck often develop gradually due to aging, weight fluctuations, and loss of skin elasticity.
A neck lift may be recommended to address:
- Loose or sagging skin in the neck
- Excess fat under the chin
- Loss of definition along the jawline
- Vertical banding in the neck
- Wrinkles and changes in skin texture
By addressing both the surface and underlying structures, a neck lift helps restore a more balanced and youthful profile. Results are long-lasting and help maintain a more defined appearance over time.
The Procedure
Neck lift surgery focuses on improving both the structure and appearance of the neck.
During the procedure, underlying muscles are tightened, excess fat may be removed or repositioned, and loose skin is carefully trimmed and redraped. This creates a smoother contour and improved definition through the jawline and neck.
Incisions are typically placed in discreet locations around the ears and under the chin to minimize visible scarring.
In some cases, advanced techniques such as a deep plane facelift may be used to address deeper structural concerns and create more comprehensive, long-lasting results. A neck lift may also be combined with other procedures to enhance overall facial balance.
What to Expect
A neck lift is typically performed as an outpatient procedure. You will need someone to drive you home and assist you during the initial recovery period.
After surgery, it is normal to experience swelling, bruising, and a feeling of tightness in the neck. Most patients take two weeks away from normal activities, with swelling gradually improving over several weeks.
As healing continues, your results will become more refined, revealing a smoother, more defined neck and jawline.
Following your post-procedure instructions carefully will help support healing and optimize your results.
