If you’re feeling self-conscious about your skin due to acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, pigment problems, enlarged pores, age spots or sun damage, or undereye circles, you might benefit from pro-fractional laser resurfacing. Pro-fractional laser resurfacing is a fast, safe, and effective way to target problem areas of the skin with little downtime.
What Is Pro-Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
Pro-fractional laser resurfacing is a safe, minimally-invasive laser procedure that improves the overall appearance of your skin with little downtime. Your skin care specialist will use a laser microbeam to target thousands of tiny areas of your skin, stimulating regrowth and collagen and elastin production.
Safety & Efficacy of Laser Resurfacing
Because the laser’s microbeam only affects a small fraction of the total treatment area, there is little to no risk of infection, scarring, discoloration, or discomfort. Your healing time is accelerated to mere days instead of weeks, and the procedure can safely be repeated until you achieve your desired results.
What to Expect During & After Your Treatment
Before your pro-fractional laser resurfacing treatment, your skin care specialist will evaluate your skin using VECTRA 3D technology. This allows you to see a projected image of what your results will be after the recommended number of treatments. You will make an appointment to come back for the actual procedure, and you should budget 2 hours for the procedure. An hour before the procedure, your skin care specialist will apply a topical numbing medication to your face. Your skin care technician will then perform the procedure using a small, handheld laser device. After the procedure, your skin care specialist will apply cold compresses and an occlusive dressing. You will wait in the recovery room under observation for around 20 minutes, and you can then go home. After the procedure, you should keep your skin moist with a nonocclusive dressing for the first one to five days. Use moisturizer and sunscreen after the fourth day. Your skin may be pink and tender for 3-14 days. Avoid wearing makeup for 7 days and using exfoliants (including Retin-A) for six weeks.
