What to Expect During Your Brazilian Buttock Lift Recovery

What to Expect During Your Brazilian Buttock Lift Recovery

A Brazilian buttock lift is a surgical procedure that improves the fullness and contouring of the buttocks. The plastic surgeon extracts unwanted fat from elsewhere in the body, and surgically injects it into the buttocks. After having this procedure, it’s important to follow your post-operative instructions carefully. Every patient heals a little differently, so don’t hesitate to call the plastic surgeon if you have any questions or concerns.

Sitting

Since the operation is performed on the buttocks, it’s important to avoid putting pressure on the area. Your plastic surgeon will ask you to sleep on your stomach or your side, and to avoid prolonged sitting.

Walking

After any surgery, patients are encouraged to get up and walk around as much as possible. Walking around frequently throughout the day will help support the healing process. It also reduces the risk of blood clot formation.

Resuming Normal Routines

Each patient’s recovery follows its own timeline. When you return for your follow-up visit, your plastic surgeon will give you additional instructions regarding when you can resume your usual activities. Expect to avoid driving until after you’re no longer on prescription pain relievers. Most patients can resume most of their usual activities within six to eight weeks, but vigorous exercise should be avoided until full healing is achieved.
