Botox®

Botox® injections have been the most common procedure performed in the last few years. Millions of women and men have Botox® injections performed to provided the temporary reduction of moderate to severe frown lines and other wrinkles on the face. This safe and effective process minimizes fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing specific muscles in the area. This treatment involves small injections, no downtime, and results are visible within 5-7 days. Botox® is typically used for the frown lines, crow's feet and forehead areas.

Filler

Fillers are very popular for patients that need the lines around the corners of the mouth and lips filled. They can also be used to enhance cheekbones in the right patients. The two most popular fillers in our practice are Juvederm® and Radiesse®. Juvederm® is a hyaluronic acid that is cross-linked. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body. By cross-linking the polymers, this product lasts longer than fillers of the past. Juvederm® is a great product that fills out the lips, nasal-labial folds and the marionette lines. Radiesse® is a calcium-based product that works by increasing Collagen formation. Radiesse® can be injected into the nasal-labial folds or marionette lines, and can be used in some patients to enhance the cheekbones. Neither Juvederm® nor Radiesse® require skin tests and many times can be done at the time of your first appointment.

Micropeel

A Micropeel is a professional grade exfoliation treatment of the skin. It is a maintenance treatment, usually performed every 6-8 weeks, that keeps the skin looking brighter and refreshed. This procedure is safe for all skin types and has no down time. We only advise that patients stop using Retin-A at least 48 hours before and after treatment. After the Micropeel, your face will feel soft and smooth.

Micropeel Plus

A Micropeel Plus is a combination of both the Micropeel and the Microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion

Using the DiamondTome Crystal Free Skin Resurfacing system, the top layer of skin cells is gently exfoliated in a safe, non-invasive manner. Removing this layer promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells, diminishes fine lines, sun damage, scarring and discoloration.

Superficial Chemical Peels

We offer customized peels targeted to meet your specific needs. These include protocols for anti-aging, pigment control, purifying, healing, treatment of acne, revitalization, rosacea and eczema. There is no downtime associated with these peels.

Medium Depth Peels

The Obagi Blue Peel and Physician's Choice Ultra Peel Forte use a 20% trichloracetic (TCA) acid base to provide deeper peel resulting in a significant improvement to the health and appearance of your skin. Peeling occurs for 3-5 days post-treatment and full healing takes 7-10 days. This procedure reduces the appearance of wrinkles, sun damage, blemishes, hyperpigmentation and acne scars.

Laser Hair Removal

This is a series of 3-8 treatments resulting in the permanent reduction of unwanted hair using the finest laser equipment available. Heat from the laser safely eradicates hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin.

Intense Pulse Light Laser (IPL)

IPL is used to minimize pigmentation issues and help with the tone and texture of the skin. Dark age spots can typically be eliminated with the use of the IPL.

Do I Need Botox® or Fillers?

Many people who start to get wrinkles as they age want to start with a non-invasive procedure such as Botox® and/ or fillers, but don't know which one they need or where to start. It is important to see a board certified plastic surgeon if you are interested in these injectables. A plastic surgeon can review all the options that are available to you. They can offer you non-invasive options and surgical options whereas a nurse injector or dermatologist cannot.

How do you know if you need Botox®, fillers or both? Botox® is used to relax the muscles that cause wrinkles, whereas fillers are used to plump out lines where wrinkles have occurred. Botox® is effective at reducing the fine lines around the eyes, forehead and glabella (between the brows). Using Botox® can also soften the platisma bands of the neck. Botox® is sold per unit, not per area. This is because some patients do require more units than others for optimal results. Botox® is $12/unit in our practice. On average, the cost for the glabella (between the brows) is $210 and $240 for the forehead, crow's feet or platisma bands. Botox® lasts about three months and should be repeated for most effective results.

Fillers do not relax the muscles. Instead, they plump up areas where deeper lines are present. The most common area for fillers is the nasal-labial folds (the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth). In a matter of minutes those lines can be erased, taking years off your face. Injecting fillers into the lips is a popular method for softening the fine lines around the mouth and the lines in the lips themselves. The lips can be filled with very natural results. Many people are afraid of their lips looking too big and "duck like" after having fillers injected. There are many people with too much product or the incorrect product in their lips, causing an unnatural look. Fillers can also be used to enhance the cheekbones and the hollowing under the eyes. The two most popular fillers are Juvaderm® and Radiesse®. Juvaderm® is a soft and malleable product that works great in many different areas. It is the only product soft enough to be injected into the lips.

Micro Needling

Micro needling has been around for a while, but only recently have the techniques and the technology been perfected to the point at which we were ready to bring this technology into our practice. The procedure reduces fine lines and wrinkles, minimizes pore size, rejuvenates the skin by increasing collagen and elastin, improves the appearance of acne scars and increases the absorption of skincare products.
